BTB Yoga - Day 10 - Extended Side Angle

Happy weekend, everyone! I'm writing this as I'm getting ready to teach my Sunday morning class - it's thanks to all my lovely students in that class that the Back to Basics Yoga Project came into existence! So thank you, thank you, thank you. I was once in your shoes too. Learning all these new moves, new poses and trying to make sense of it all. I remember it sounding and feeling like a foreign language at the beginning.

I'm excited for you, having this journey ahead of you. As a beginner you can soak it all in and see tremendous progress in a short period of time. Enjoy it - and I hope this little project Jayne and I have created is helping you along the way...

So...today it's Day 10 and we're doing Extended Side Angle. At the beginning, you can place your forearm on your bent knee, but make sure you're not collapsing your weight into that arm! I always ask my students to lift that arm (or hand if it's on the mat) to make sure they're feeling an upward lift as well.

I've broken it all down in this video. I had to re-shoot many of my videos because my gorgeous cat Venus kept walking in front of the camera (she thinks my mat is actually hers!!). But she makes a guest appearance in this video! Isn't she the most beautiful cat you've ever seen?!?

If you're joining us on the #BTBYoga Challenge, make sure sure to tag us so we can see your photos! On Instagram tag @rosiyogi, @jaynebecca, @TeekiUK and #BTBYoga and on Facebook, post the photo to RosalieYoga and JayneBeccaYoga.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend yogis :-)
